Passed Away.

One of the saddest deaths which has yet occurred in this village was that of Gust Kreger. Cut down in the prime of life by that dread disease, consumption, he passed away early Saturday morning. The end came after about a year's sickness. The fatal illness was brought on by his catching cold and it settled on his lungs. He tried change of climate and various methods but to no avail. He died at the home of George Huelskamp, Mrs. Huelskamp being his sister. He was about 30 years of age. The funeral was held from the German Lutheran church under the auspices of the fire department, of which Mr. Kreger was an active member until taken sick, and the pall bearers George Scheman, Wm. Korth, Arthur Gustafson, Chas. Carlson, Ole Lofthus and P. Espenson were members of the department. Mr. Kreger was also a member of the Brotherhood of America and fortunately carried a $2,000 policy. The remains were interred in the Winthrop Cemetery.
