William J. Vance


William "Billy" Joseph Vance, 48, of Franklin, W.Va., died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.


Mr. Vance was born Feb. 26, 1957, and was the son of the late Marvin Vance and Mary Alice Cooper Vance.


He had worked at Hanover Shoe and WLR Foods Hinton Plant. He was very active in the Civil War Living History, and participated as a Union Soldier in many parades and reenactments. He attended the Bible Missionary Church in Onego, W.Va.


His wife of nine years, Koren-Faye Rawlings Vance, survives in Franklin, W.Va.


Also surviving are two daughters, Andrea Milton of Franklin, W.Va., and Bobbie Sue Vance of Cabins, W.Va.; two stepsons, Robert West and John West of Fort Seybert, W.Va.; a sister, Kitty S. Phares of Pasadena, Md., two grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.


Pastors Dusty Twigg and Layton Kramer will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Saturday at the Onego Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Vance Family Cemetery in Onego, W.Va.


The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, W.Va.
