Former Resident Dies in Washington


Mrs. Leonard Jahnke, nee Amelia Krueger, Passed Away on Tuesday, July 5th


The sad intelligence was received by Winthrop relatives on Wednesday of last week informing them of the death of Mrs. Leonard Jahnke, nee Amelia Krueger. She was stricken at her home in Sella, Washington, on Friday, July 5th, at the age of 45 years.


About two years ago she submitted to an operation for cancer and since then had experienced a gradual decline.


Amelia Krueger was born in St. Paul and was but a year old when her parents moved to Winthrop. Here she grew to womanhood and in 1921 she was united in marriage to Mr. Leonard Jahnke. For the past six years she had resided at Sella, Washington.


She is survived by her husband, daughter, Delphia, nine years of age, and her mother, Mrs. Mary Krueger. Her father, Herman Krueger, and an only brother are deceased. Mr. Krueger died in August 1925.


Mrs. Jahnke was regarded highly by her many friends and old acquaintances at Winthrop will regret to learn of her demise. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Friedens Lutheran church of Winthrop.
