Harrison Minehart, 73, longtime of Pullman area


ONAMIA, Minn. -- Harrison Minehart, a longtime Pullman area resident and city employee, died of complications of diabetes and emphysema Friday at Mille Lacs Hospital here. He was 73.


He was born March 12, 1926, to George and Vivian Starff Minehart in Minneapolis, Minn.


He married Donna Hillman in Spokane Aug. 6, 1950. They made their home in the area of Johnson, near Pullman. He worked for many years as a foreman for the Pullman Public Works Department. In 1990, they moved to Garrison, Minn.


He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Pullman Moose Lodge. He enjoyed wood working and making things in his garage.


Survivors include his wife at their home in Garrison; a son, Gary Minehart of Johnson; a daughter, Debbie Holbach of Johnson; a brother, Thane Minehart of Seattle; one grandchild; and several stepgrandchildren.


He was preceded in death by a son, Guy Minehart, a brother and a sister.


A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.


The Shelley Funeral Chapel at Onamia is in charge of arrangements.
