Elizabeth C. "Betty" Mackay

Elizabeth C. "Betty" Mackay, nee Cogan, 82, of Clayton, N.J., died on Friday July 20, 2007 in S.J. Hospital System, Elmer Division, after a long illness. Born in Pennsauken, and formerly of Pitman, she was a resident of Clayton for the past 33 years. She was a Graduate of Pitman High School, Class of 1942, former volunteer at Elmer Hospital, enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special "THANKS" to the Elmer Hospital, 2nd floor Nursing Staff. Betty was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone of N.J., and a switch Board operator at Glassboro State College. Survived by her beloved husband, Robert W. Mackay, her two children, Nancy McCrae (Bill) of Clayton, and David Schober of Rome, N.Y. Her three stepchildren, Helen Gwalthney (Frank) of Woodbury, Stephen Mackay (Karen) of Pitman, and Mary Vrabel (Richard) of Pittsgrove. 12 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her dear Sisters, Clara Davis of Williamstown and Mary Lou McCarthy of Conn., and her Brothers Leslie Cogan of Ga. And Donald Cogan of Pa. Predeceased by her five Brothers, James, Francis Jr., Raymond, Robert and Thomas. Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with her family on Tuesday July 24th from 9 to 11 a.m., at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, Broad and Maple Sts. Clayton, N.J.
