Foreston Pioneer Rites December 8

Funeral services for one of Foreston's pioneer residents, Frank Kunst, who passed away on December 4, were held with Requiem High Mass at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Foreston on Thursday, December 7, with the Very Rev. N. P. Junker officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Frank Kunst was born in Holland on October 27, 1877, to William and Marie Kunst. When he was a young man, the family immigrated to this country and settled in St. Louis, Missouri, where they lived for some time. They later moved to Hancock, Minnesota, for three years and then settled on a farm in Chase Brook about the year 1900. He was married to Ida Katherine Santema at Princeton on September 16, 1912, and they resided in Foreston for eight years before moving to his present home in Chase Brook, where he spent the remainder of his life until he passed away there on December 4, at the age of 84 years, 1 months and 7 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing wife, Ida, two daughters; Mrs. Clem Kreger (Mary) of Minneapolis; Mrs. William Bauer (Margaret), Foreston; and six sons: William, Frank Jr. and Henry at home; Bernard and Robert of Page and Anthony of Ogilvie; also one sister, Mrs. Katherine Vanderberg, Ogilvie; 26 grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Firmin Beeuwsnert, Andrew Kosel, Ben Brunn, Clem Haen, Ed Roehl and William O'Neil.
